Antiaging Skin Care for Men

Appearances are becoming increasingly important these days, and not just for women. Men too are becoming very particular about how they look because they are becoming aware of the importance of looking young for as long as possible. Men are also interested in using antiaging skin care products for men so that they can stay young for longer.

There is great demand for antiaging skin care products for men because women these days expect men to take effort on their appearance just as they do. This also has an impact on men’s job prospects because employers do have a bias towards younger and healthier looking people. It is also a fact that a man feels more confident if he looks good, and this affects the way in which he interacts with the rest of the world. Men suffer the same symptoms as women as they grow older and they want to look and feel better.

Antiaging skin care products for men tend to be slightly different from the ones that women use. Men’s skin tends to be thicker than that of women because of the years of shaving that they do. However, men’s skins also need protection from the harmful effects of pollution which deposits free radicals on the skin. As a result, it is advised that they follow a skin care routine that includes cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing. Men tend to have darker circles under their eyes than women and they also tend to be out in the sun more often. They require special products that can take care of these problems.

The most popular skin care products for men tend to be moisturizers with sunscreens. They are essential to keep harmful UV rays away from the skin and also to work as a barrier to moisture loss. This is very beneficial to keep the skin free of wrinkles for as long as possible. Men will definitely benefit from using them regularly to fight aging in men. Some men even want to have natural skincare products to use on their skin.

There are also a variety of skin cleaners, toners, moisturizers and anti aging night creams for men's skin to help combat the signs of aging that appear on their skin as the age. The packaging on products for men is more masculine of course. The earlier on in life that men start taking care of their skin, the better it will look as they age.

Favorite Natural Skin Care Products

Since we're talking about natural skin care and natural skincare products, watch this video called Favorite Natural Skin Care Products to find out some of the best natural skin care products.

Hormones and Skin Aging

Found this great article on the internet by Marie Pace, ND, CNC, a naturopath and certified nutritional counsellor from her website: www.mariepace.com. on optimum solutions for skincare. In this interesting article, she speaks on the subject of hormones and their effect on skin aging.

"In my 30’s I noticed that I had more acne than when I did as a teenager. I never understood this. Then in my late 30’s my body really started to change quite a bit. I had a miscarriage at age 38 and from there much on the body started going downhill. As I slowly crept into my 40’s (I was moving a bit slower by then; not real sure I was going to enjoy these “40’s”!), I noticed a tremendous un-evenness to my skin texture, tone and color. Dry patches on jowls and temples, dry and oily at the same time on the chin and nose, thinning skin, color no longer even.

Replacement hormones used from the earliest stage of menopause reduces the development of wrinkles and skin rigidity.

Menopause
affects women differently. Some women notice very little difference in their bodies or moods, while others find the change extremely bothersome and disruptive. Estrogen, testosterone, progesterone and thyroid hormones all affect virtually all the tissues in the body, but everyone is influenced by them differently.

Hormones are mostly to blame for skin changes as we age. Hormones are chemical messengers produced in organs such as the ovaries, adrenal glands, and thyroid glands, and all have an effect on other tissues.

Much of the reason why our skin begins to suffer is primarily due to hormones — and there is a massive industry manufacturing products to try to alleviate the results of these hormonal changes, notably as women reach menopause in their 40s and 50s.
As menopause occurs, estrogen is reduced as is progesterone and testosterone, and while it has a direct effect on thinning bones, it also creates significant changes in the skin.

Another hormone we have is thyroxin, produced by the thyroid gland, which influences skin appearance. Too much thyroxin shows a warm, smooth, sweaty, flushed skin. Under-activity of thyroxin produces a dry, coarse thickening of skin with reduced ability to sweat.

The oil glands of the skin are in part controlled by the level and activity of the hormone testosterone in the skin. Testosterone is required to produce acne.
This outcome can be seen in conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, which produce some elevation in testosterone and in turn causes increased facial hair, irregular periods and acne. The imbalance of Estrogen to Progesterone, with the estrogen being higher and the progesterone being lower can also cause oily skin and much acne problems experienced in peri-menopause and actual menopause."

What can you do about the effect of loss of hormones and what happens to your skin as you grow older? You can not only take care of your skin from the inside-out with a healthy diet, drinking lots of water and exercising, but you can also use a good skincare regimen consisting of a quality moisturizing cream, preferabbly anti-aging and organic, without the chemicals.

The Photofacial And How It Can Help You Look Your Best

If you’re always on the lookout for a procedure or product that will help your skin look its best, don’t overlook the photofacial. Done in plastic surgery offices and medical clinics across the country, this procedure has been highlighted numerous times by industry experts as one of the top choices to make your skin look better. Even if you don’t suffer from specific problems, you will experience positive effects from the procedure. If you have problems such as rosacea or acne scars, it is one of the few procedures that can make a quick difference in your appearance.

The photofacial is unique among cosmetic enhancement procedures because of how it works. Instead of using creams or injections, the rejuvenation happens from the outside in. The clinicians make use of pulse technology to target tissues in the face with the special light. Through this mechanism, collagen production is inspired. If you think collagen is just to give your lips a full appearance, you might be surprised. It is actually one of the most important elements in a healthy, youthful face. It staves off the loss of elasticity, which is such a common problem for people as they grow older, and one of the main reasons people elect to have face lifts and other cosmetic surgeries.

If you’re looking for a procedure that won’t take up a lot of your time, the photofacial is again a winner. Depending on how much work you’re having done and the clinic you attend, the entire process shouldn’t take more than an hour. Sometimes a clinic can get you in and out in under twenty minutes. Depending on your sensitivity levels, you can opt to have it done under local anesthetic or without. The pulses of light are similar in pain to zaps from a laser, so if you’ve ever had laser treatment, you know what you’re in for. Some people are barely bothered by it, while others find it quite unpleasant. In any case, downtime shouldn’t be an issue for the overwhelming majority of patients.

For best results, it may take more than one session. Most clinics will recommend having the procedure done continually for a couple of months, with three weeks or so in between appointments. This will allow both you and the doctor to observe the effects of the treatment and determine how effective it is at stimulating collagen production. Once you’ve attained the look you want, you http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifcan come back in for a touchup on the order of once a year or so. This will make sure you don’t lose the collagen that has filled out your face, and keep the stimulation going so you can keep that rosy glow. Ask your local medical spa or plastic surgeon’s office about their treatment plan.

Important Information About AHA And Antiaging in Health

Anti-aging and skin care products added with AHA are flooding the market. Alpha hydroxy acids are supposed to smoothen fine lines and surface wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, unblock and cleanse pores. They also improve oily skin or acne, and improve skin condition in general. AHA or Alpha Hydroxy Acids are not new to skin care. Legends of Cleopatras milk baths are well known in beauty and skin care. Polynesians used sugarcane and fruit juices to soften their skin. The factor common to the properties of these natural products is this group of natural substances found in sugarcane, fruits, milk, molasses, etc., called AHA. What are AHA molecules?

To find out if a cosmetic contains an AHA, look on the list of ingredients. AHA ingredients may be listed as:

Glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid + ammonium glycolate, alpha-hydroxyethanoic acid + ammonium alpha-hydroxyethanoate, alpha-hydroxyoctanoic acid, alpha-hydroxycaprylic acid, hydroxycaprylic acid, mixed fruit acid, tri-alpha hydroxy fruit acids, triple fruit acid, sugar cane extract, alpha hydroxy and botanical complex, L-alpha hydroxy acid glycomer in cross linked fatty acids alpha nutrium (three AHAs). How AHA works?

To find out how AHA works for natural anti aging skin care, let us see how the skin grows old, and how to keep it younger. Cells in the outer layers of skin are bound together by inter-cellular fluid. As one ages, this glue-like substance binds the skin cells tighter and denser. Dead skin layers build up and unlike young skin, natural exfoliation becomes difficult. This group of natural acids has the ability to loosen this inter-cellular fluid, and allows the top layer of dead skin to slough off easily. Thus AHA products cause exfoliation, or shedding of the surface skin. The extent of exfoliation depends on the type and concentration of the AHA, its pH (acidity), and other ingredients in the product. Most skin care cosmetics sold to consumers contain AHA at levels up to 10 percent. Side effects of AHA

The side effects from AHA containing products can include burns, itching, pain, and possibly scarring. The degree of acidity (the pH) of the product also can affect irritation. Some experts advise that people should purchase products with AHA concentrations of 10% or less and a pH of 3.5 or higher (the higher the pH, the lower the acidity). If any adverse effects occur, the use should be stopped immediately. In any case, people are advised to avoid sunlight or use proper protection when using them.

The best way to use AHA products would be to try the product for some time and see the difference in skin. Avoid sunlight exposure while using AHA products and watch for any side effects. Consulting your dermatologist before using these products would be a still better course of action, and the best would be to take Cleopatras recipe for Milk bath, and remain younger.

Why is Natural Skincare so Important?

by Sean Prenderville-Finn

Let me explain.

When you are hungry and your body feels tired you need rest and sustenance. You nourish your body with good natural food to give you the energy to survive and function. Having fuelled your inner parts you feel much better.

But what about your outer parts, your face, neck, hands and body skin?

This too requires to be fed with good natural skincare products to maintain colour, texture, smoothness and vitality. Everyone wants to look their best and as youthful as the years allow.

When you apply a product externally the ingredients are absorbed through the layers of your skin and enter the bloodstream. In effect your skin eats the product's ingredients rather like your daily food intake is digested by your internal organs.

You can now see that you need to be as selective about the food you apply externally as the food you ingest.

Your problem is deciding what products are right for you. With so many leading brands on the market you may feel spoilt for choice. You see advertisements on television, in newspapers and magazines making unbelievable claims to care for your skin.

But let the buyer beware.

What the product manufacturers will not tell you is that there may be a low concentration of some active ingredients in a particular product; active ingredients being those that improve the health of your skin. Nor are you likely to be informed of any harmful chemicals which are hidden within to preserve and fragrance their products. Many, if not all expensive supposedly natural skincare products contain cheap and harmful chemical preservatives. Studies have suggested that these may contribute to breast cancer and affect oestrogen levels. In fact one leading brand contained Triclosan, which is classified as a pesticide. Triclosan destroys good bacteria.

Would you put a pesticide on your skin? I think not.

However, there is hope. There are manufacturers who are concerned about the health of your skin. To find them requires a little research. When you find them and you will, your efforts will be pleasantly rewarded.

The skincare products you really want should be composed of high-quality, pure natural anti aging skin care ingredients, safe enough for you to eat. They should also be devoid of all harmful chemicals. Your choice, therefore, is not too difficult. You need to be patient.

Some Tips For Antiaging Skin Care

by li baocai

As we grow older, our body undergoes a multitude of changes. The same happens to our skin. With age our skin's natural ability to renew itself slows down, it's ability to hold moisture decreases, and there are changes in its collagen and melanin level. All these changes coupled with harmful UV rays from the sun, air pollution, and lack of proper diet and exercise can make our skin look older. Anti aging skin care will help in keeping our skin youthful and fresh for a long time if not forever.

Aging is caused by a combination of internal and external factors. The internal factor is usually inherited and is called genetic aging. People prone to genetic aging start showing signs of aging around their mid 30's.The other type of aging is caused due to external factors such as pollution, exposure to sun, stress and smoking. This type of aging can start even when the person is in his/her early 20's.

The fine lines and wrinkles that appear near the eyes, forehead or lips are the most commonly known signs of aging. There are seven signs of skin aging which are broadly identified as: Fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, uneven skin tone, appearance of pores, age spots, dull skin and dryness. Anti aging skin care routine should be designed to combat these 7 signs of skin aging.

Some of these signs of aging can start as early as 25 years. Science has come to our aid to help us fight aging. We always knew that eating those veggies and fruits loaded with anti-oxidants and vitamins was good for skin. Anti aging skin care products are a combination of anti-oxidants and vitamin B3. Anti-oxidant Vitamin E, along with Vitamin B3 and Pro-Vitamin B5 helps to reduce skin damage induced by free radicals generated from the environmental stress and sun exposure. Vitamin B3 helps maintain collagen production, stimulate skin renewal and evens out melanin production. Together these ingredients help fight 7 signs of aging.

One need not be happy with just soft smooth skin. With proper diet, exercise and care one can possess a softer, smoother and firmer skin. Regular skin care routine will visibly reduce the fine lines and wrinkles.

While normal aging cannot be stopped completely, it can be slowed down to a great extent with proper skin care. With repeated sun exposure, the skin loses its ability to repair itself. Also the damage keeps accumulating over time and unprotected skin exposure should be avoided completely. Lack of exercise can also contribute to aging skin. Keeping stress and frown lines to a minimum and having bright smile and lots of energy can make one look younger at any age. Exposure to cold winds can also make skin dry and accelerate the aging process. Aging skin needs ample moisturizing.

Sleeping sufficiently can also make dark circles and bags disappear from around the eyes. Although there are different kinds of treatments, procedures and surgery that can assist in improving the look of your skin, it is important that you look after your skin from a very early age.

A better approach to keeping your skin at its best is to drink plenty of water and use a moisturizer daily, get enough sleep and exercise regularly. That is the best anti aging skin care easily affordable to all of us anytime. Moreover it has no side effects and the results are slow to show but sure to achieve.

How Could The Best Anti Aging Moisturizer Not Even Be A Moisturizer?

by Peter Clark

If you're looking for the best anti aging moisturizer that money can buy you need to know something about moisturizers and skin care products in general, and you also need to know why the best moisturizer is in fact not a moisturizer at all.

The very first thing to understand about skin care products in general, including big name moisturizers, is that most of them contain suspect ingredients that may well damage your health and which generally don't work well. Mineral oil is a fine example of this kind of ingredient.

Mineral oil is a byproduct of the distillation of crude oil. It is found in many personal, skin care and beauty products and is a petrochemical product. Baby oil is mineral oil. Unfortunately there is a range of health concerns linked to the use of mineral oil and personal products.

You may be familiar with Material Safety Data Sheets. These sheets list a wide range of information about chemical ingredients including potential health concerns. Examine a Material Safety Data Sheet for mineral oil and you will see that it says that mineral oil is a suspected carcinogen of a number of organs in the body and also can cause irritation to the eyes, skin and lungs.

So if mineral oil has these problems why would any skin care company use it as an ingredient? The reason is that mineral oil is exceedingly cheap, costing virtually nothing.

And mineral oil is not an effective moisturizer. In fact it has no moisturizing properties, the reason it is included in moisturizers is that it coats the skin in a thin layer of oil thereby preventing moisture loss. To some degree this works but it is far more effective to use ingredients which actively promote moisture levels in the skin.

There is a wide range of naturally occurring ingredients which actively moisturize and which are safe to use. Olive oil, avocado oil, babassu oil and shea butter are good examples of natural oils which actively moisturize skin and are safe, in fact many are eaten.

There are also other ingredients used in the best anti aging facial moisturizers which moisturize successfully by different methods. A fine example of one of these ingredients is called Cynergy TK which is sourced from the wool of sheep. It actively promotes increased levels of collagen and elastin in the skin thereby improving skin health and reducing wrinkles. Healthy skin is always better moisturized skin.

There are very few products in the world that use Cynergy TK because it is extremely expensive. None of the big brand skin care companies will use it because of the cost. But there is one company that does use it and produces the worlds best anti aging moisturizer which isn't even a moisturizer.

Rather their products all moisturize successfully because the ingredients mentioned above are in the entire skin care line. There is no need to produce a dedicated moisturizer because if you use any of their skin care products you will get moisturizing properties anyway.

So there's some extra information for you that may help in your search for the best anti aging tips for skin care facial moisturizers. The best anti aging facial moisturizer is not a moisturizer at all but a skin care line that uses naturally occurring safe ingredients effectively that moisturize the skin and improve overall skin health.
